Overall: It is disappointing and frustrating to not be able to make modifications that I want to make without hunting and hunting to try to figure out how to do it and sometimes not finding the answer. I suppose I will need to watch some training videos to figure out how to use it. So perhaps this program has these features and it's just difficult to figure out how to use it. Also, you cannot change the color of items at least as far as I can figure out. Also, I am finding it difficult to change the swing on a door to go from an inside swing to an outside swing. Navigating the little person is a bit tricky. I do not see this program has that option. With Sweet Home 3D, you can put your finger on the little camera and move it to where you want it to be to start with. Sweethome3d is not available on an iPad, as far as I can tell.Ĭons: I cannot figure out how to move the little person whose view you are looking at without actually moving him using the keys to move him throughout the house. I was a little spoiled with sweet home 3D because it is very user-friendly. That's really all I can say about what I like about it. Now I need to create an horizatal cylinder, but just can't.Pros: It's a design tool. If it's easy, please do it - how much beer would you like?!!įully agree this feature is needed.
I would like to model eco and timber-frame houses and such a tool would enable to show wood-beam structure seperate from wall structure. Then position it in space by raising the overall elevation as normal (based off the lower end) and using normal rotate as required. In practice one would make an oblong box (beam or plane) then set the vertical angle by simply raising one end (shift + elevation tool or enter in box for left or right end elevation). For the mouse you would use 'shift + drag the elevation corner tool' and for the keyboard entry it would be similar to the sloped wall entry box. Since you say it's easy to program, I hope I can tempt you to program it! I have a suggestion for very easy use.Īll that's needed is to be able to raise the elevation of each end seperatly. (If you look at the other thread, that is not a 'simple' solution.)

I agree that keeping things simple is important but on the other hand, being able to angle a beam or plane would be immensely useful - really a basic tool rather than a pro tool. I got to this thread via the 'angled beam or plane' thread where someone else was hoping for a similar fix for angled objects. I have to congratulate you because SH3D is much nicer to use! I'm new here but have used other tools such as DesignWorkshop. I wasn't aware of the feature in the furniture import wizard. Note that if you want to apply rotations multiple of 90°, you may import again an objet and orientate it differently in the second step of the furniture import wizard.Įmmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D developer It could be nice in a "pro" version, but it's not planned at all at this time. It's not really complicated to program but Sweet Home 3D must remain simple to use, so I don't support this kind of feature. I'm not sure this feature will be available in a close future. It would be useful to create much more realistic environments.
I was wondering if a developper could make a way to rotate objects not just on the Y axis but on the X and Z aswell.
